For years I’ve been calling restaurants for delivery, screaming over the background noise and struggling to understand the accent of the order taker; only to have my order mangled and the delivery man not have exact change. Enter SeamlessWeb, which I’ve been using for over two years. You just access the menu online, fill in your order, pay by with the credit card they have on file for you, and your delivery shows up. Fast and easy. The first time you have to open your mouth is when you’re ready to stick food in it.
It’s a great concept and a very well executed service, but it might be the worst branded company in history. SeamlessWeb sounds like it should be an enterprise CRM and value-chain management solution. Instead it’s the place you order food.
They’re getting better at marketing though. They just offered bloggers $100 worth of free food to write about them. Genius. I’m not above blogging for food, so here you go. They might take some shit for not requiring disclosure, but since they made a public blog post with the offer I think it’s reasonable to assume everyone will link to it like I did so the disclosure would occur naturally.
My only question: Will they also give you $100 if you reblog this post? Only one way to find out…
